ok, I have a question. I have an AEM Uego Wideband gauge with the Bosch sensor to presumably watch the air/fuel ratio and tell me if I am running too rich or lean, etc.
Now, the Uego also has a controller. Presumably this controller is used to modify the air/fuel ratio so that the truck doesn't run rich/lean, correct?
Now, is the controller absolutely necessary or can the truck be tuned accordingly by a tuner (i.e. Neslon, Blackbaer, Westers, etc) and then just monitored via the Wideband gauge?
Help me out to understand this completely...
Oh, in case its being questioned as to why this post is in the F/I forum, its because the truck is being magnacharged.
Thanks fellas!

It does not "Control" or change the AFR it only monitors it. you have to make any changes using tuning software.
If you have EFI Live I can send you the PIDS you need for it since I use that same wideband.

I believe the controller your talking about is only so you can Mimic the front 02 sensors. It allows you to use your wideband Bosch sensor as your factory o2 sensors. it is not required.
Just use your gauge and sensor to monitor the afr and make adjustments via tuning software.

About time Robbie.
The controller is just a translator to provide the correct signal to your gauges computer and possibly an output to EFI live or HP Tuners for logging purposes. Do you already have headers?

ok, so in essence the controller is not needed? Justin from Blackbear is tuning the truck once the blower goes on with EFIlive, just wasn't sure what I "needed."
yeah, wife was good to me this year. no headers yet, maybe mid 09 I'll get them on.
