Correct, this is a flange that attaches to your intake manifold it comes off of the intake manifold at a angle to provide extra room to get the piping out of the blower. This flange also has a boss welded on it to provide a place for a IAT sensor to be installed.

that thing is very well constructed. oh, would it hurt to run the intercooler setup with the whipple ecu still connected or should i wait til i get some more $ to ditch the ecu, then put on the i/c?

You will need a custom tune for sure, my tuning was nite and day different once I added the intercooler. The cooler denser air makes a big difference.

Have you ever checked the temperature of the air coming out of the compressor? There will still be a massive increase in power if you add an intercooler to bring your temps down from (probably) over 150 to 60 degrees.

Ok I have been thinking, how many of you guys have the two belt whipple setup? I am concerned about room in front of the intake or therefore lack of it. If you have any pics post them up. The belt is routed differently on the two belt setup, the one idler is closer to the intake inlet...

Off topic but......I never plan to go over 6psi and not really gearing up for racing. I'm not quite convinced at all that at my level of performance that an IC will give me a "massive" increase in power. I may see maybe 20 HP over non IC at 6psi and to me that just ain't worth the effort unless I planned to ever increase boost...then yes IC will be a big plus.
