Perfectly normal.

Good to hear, but it didn't do it when I first installed it. And I meant to say side to side as in spin not pull push.

They are a little tighter when they are new. Dont worry, you will be fine.

FYI, the part I am talking about is the one that breaks when someone takes the pulley off with an air tool

What happens after 100k miles? They just make less boost, or do they lock up or what?

i had same problem and with new cam it was making a banging sound at idle sound like broken rotors banging together but it is not the rotors it is the pulley has 1/4 inch play hitting the three metal pins.

over time that spring will bend creating play
it is very easy to fix about half hour job you will need new oil then remove front bolts-remove nose you will see metal spring install nose back on the other side of that spring..

now i have no play at all charger feels like new oh and the banging is gone completely

Do you have to buy the spring? If yes, where can I purchase it or what do I purchase? And would this have to do with it only boosting 4 psi.

no need to buy the spring you will understand when you remove the nose.... there is only two position the nose will fit back on the charger one has the play and the other position has ZERO play..
