Default what's the limit on stock bottom 5.3 ??

Is anyone running 12 psi or more on a stock 5.3? I want to push my 5.3 to its limit, currently 10 psi ,will be doing cam, pushrods,DOD delete, timing set,LTs ,ORY,3 core intercooler (2 core now) but don't want to mess with bottom end and heads. Can it take 12 psi or more?

Yes, it can handle 12lbs but you pushing it if you want it to last. It's all in the tuning at that point, also you will definitely need to spray meth. I think you will run in to belt slip before you reach the 5.3's limits, assuming you have a 6 rib setup.

Or should I wait and save to build it to a 370 and a F1 blower? I do have a 6 rib now with regular pulleys and has some belt slip already.

My gauge says I'm building 14 or 15 pds. I'm planning on adding a 150 shot of nitrous.

I think if you want to get serious with blown power, you need to go beyond the 6-rib. But like you said, at that point it makes sense to just drop a bigger engine in.

Your could get a set of Forged Wiseco stock bore pistons, and a set of ARP rod bolts. That would be a nice little insurance package. If you want find a set of decent K1 or Callies rods.

I know you said "stock", but I thought I'd add a little info in case you were referring to "stock displacement."

I've been taught to build from the back up.. make sure you have supporting components for your additional Hp.
