Default whats a good crank case ventalation for a turbo ?

hey i install my turbo in my 2006 silverado and tune it and now is throwing all the oil threw the engine oil dip stick it pushes the dip stick up and oil comes up and i had alredy install a breather on top of the oil cap thats about it so it can release the pressure but its not enough and pressure is coming out of the oil cap i dont know if its from the turbo presure in the motor or its the compression rings i mest up ,it only come out from the oil cap threw the filter breather. what can i do it dose it when i flore the gas it and im running 11.6 psi on the motor anything would help, thanks.

If you already have a breather in the cap and it's pushing the dipstick, then it sound like you have WAY to much pressure in the crank case. Sound like a broken piston to me Might want to run a compression check on it to see how healthy the motor is.

theres no ventilation system tahts gonna aleviate that much pressure in the case... i would say you broke a piston, or maybe tossed some rings...

you can run a catch can with a breather filter, so that you wont lose oil and the motor will breath

but at this point it sounds like a band aid

edit: oops sisnt see kb's post about you already having a breather on teh cover....

and your still blowing the dipstick out

yeah still blowing the dipstick but i found the problem already i ran a cylinder compression check and the last two on the driver side were the ones mest up one of them had only 60psi and the other one was at 0psi on the gage and one of the plugs was bended on the tip to the side.

Yep, classic #5 and #7 piston failure... Sorry to hear about your loss

hey kbracing96 do you think if i doreout my 5.3 to 5.7L. and forged it and it will hold up or what do you think i should do so i wont mess it up again and dam kb this turbo set up felt like a beat from 65 once it boost up it would start going side to side so i had to let go out off the gas it was a bad *** rush while it lasted ... it would boost up real quik bro .

Punching it out to a 5.7 and forging would be a GREAT idea . You just need to be more careful with the tuning, I'm SURE what you did was got too much timing with the high PSI and detonated it. A stock 5.3 won't take that at ALL! I'm sure it was fun while it lasted,

i think it had only 16 degree of timing at wot and my tuner was logging while i was test driving it and he said no knock it ok but i dont knok ,will the forged motor will be alot harder to blow it up will it take 11-15 psi and hold on
