Honestly though, why are some people using WW fluid, and others paying 40 dollars a gallon for Methanol?

How well does it keep. I've thought about going that route, but if 1/2 of it evaporates before I get to use it, then...

If you keep it sealed, doesn't evaporate much. Most guys don't like to store it, cuz it does attract water, but in your case, that's not really a big deal. Might look for a race shop (dirt car shop) with a "old" 1/2 full barrel they would want to sell/get rid of

Probably because its cheap, easy to get , and it does what it needs to.

I pay $3.20 / gal. 100% methanol from smiley's racing fuels.

Would E85 work? At least better than WW fluid eh? I've been running the whole truck on it since May and the engine takes forever to warm up (yes the thermostat is good), runs like detonation doesn't exist, and it's less than $2.40 a gallon and at a gas station down the street. I wouldn't hang a plastic bottle of it in my engine compartment though.
