Default What would be a conversative timing amount at 195kpa?

Well i have been cranking up the boost controller here lately. Today i got up to 195kpa and i was running about 14* of timing, AFR in the low 11s... Currently i have my tune setup to 16* up to 145kpa, then i start pulling 1* every 10kpa after 175kpa.

So it looks like this
24* at 105kpa
21* at 115kpa
18* at 125kpa
16.5* at 135kpa
16* at 145kpa
...................
16* at 175kpa
15* at 185kpa
14* at 195kpa

I am running 2x7 meth nozzles with 100% meth.

I have never really been above 175kpa, so i am in unknown territory...
Is this decently safe?

OK, your a 5.3 with like 9.5 CR, i am a LQ9 at 10.0 CR... I think that triple 112 has a higher DCR than my cam so.... Hmmmmm.... I dunno what to think.... I guess i am pretty safe.

Thanks for your reply.

i would bump up the timing to like 17-18 with all the meth you're spraying. still be really safe

Interesting. I will have to play around with that.

I think that's a pretty good timing table. I wouldn't increase the timing too much more. Most of the people pushing more timing end up blowing the motor. Denmah preaches high boost low timing and has the results to back it.

I run 14.5* @ 225 kPa. 10.6:1 compression.

But your on e85, i run 93 but i agree about lowering timing. I have read that too little timing is just as bad as too much. Finding that middle ground is proving to be subjective.

How are you setting the tune up so it pulls timing by manifold pressure? My timing table bottoms out at 1.20 g/cyl basically at any boost level so the last row of the table is my timing in boost. Is there a timing retard table based on manifold pressure?

I think you are conservative on your timing by the way.

Technically I'm on E48 now, although I still consider that superior to gas and meth.

Also, if you meth pump fails and you have the timing increased you've probably just blown your motor. The way I see meth usage is as a safety net, not as a performance increaser. But that's just my opinion. Even with E85 I never treated it as a superior fuel and drastically increased the timing. My goal is to keep my stock junkyard motor alive and keep playing.
