Oil in the inlet of the turbo I would expect to see some in the out let if the turbo.
I have had
Tnetics
Borgwarner s300 s400t4 and t6
Precision t3, t4, t6
Magnum t4
Garrett gt55
???3
And few others.
All of them have had play. Cold. No oil psi.

You have already touch the housing a little so you know it did moved.
If you get aggressive with your demo you could actually damage the wheel.
So be careful.

Play does not mean a bad turbo.
Just like oil smoke does not mean a sealing ring in the turbo is bad.
Here's a video of a Garrett turbo clearance, I found for you for comparison.
Looks about like everyone I have ever seen.

Just let me know if you need anything.

Mine was just like the one in the video thanks for finding that. I think I will pull all the piping and clean it up and see if any oil comes back. Can you clean an intercooler out or should i not worry about it? Also can a intercooler be painted or powdercoated? Might do this if I pull it out for cleaning. Thanks for helping.

I still need help with this. I pulled the air intake off today and there is a pool of oil sitting in it like the pics above. The compressor housing has a nice coat of oil on it. There is oil in my intercooler piping as well.

Trick dose not seem to think its the turbo. So where else can it be coming from? The only source for oil is the oil feed line to the turbo. So I am not understanding what else it could be. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

How long did you have the PCV set up to the intake tube before the turbo? That is why I never recommend attempting a recirculated setup with a turbo, not worth it. Have you taken everything apart and cleaned it to see if it comes back? Like take the intercooler out and spray water and degreaser in it to get everything out. What you are seeing might be left over in the intercooler from when you had the PCV set up like that.

I only ran it that way for a couple weeks. Then deleted the PCV. Its probably been about 5,000 miles since I deleted the PCV. I cleaned the air intake where the oil pools and the turbo compressor housing when I noticed this last time but I did not remove the intercooler and all the piping to clean it. There is more oil in the air intake pipe then last time. It pools right next to where it connect to the compressor housing. The compressor housing had more oil then last time as well.

Well, its coming from somewhere, sounds like the only place left is the compressor seals. What turbo is it?

Its from Tricks stage 2 kit. Does not have a name. Some guys refer to it as a Chinese turbo. Not for sure Trick would have to tell you exactly what it is. I asked before purchasing the kit and the answer is its there in house turbo. . I was hoping it was something else since I only have about 8000 miles on the turbo and it has never been past 7psi. Thanks for helping

i ran my pcv setup for a long time and had literally almost nothing, just a little brown discoloration on one of the comp blades.

The amount of oil for the op is a turbo failure.

Is the oil sticky or oily.
Could be from the filter it self.
Turbo designs on the compressor side is sucking air in.
If oil from the cartridge got to the compressor side.
It would smoking a huge amount. because it also be going out the exhaust side.

Is the truck smoking? Yes or no.
Is there oil in the bottom intercooler pipe? Yes or no
If you are venting the v/c how are they vented?

Sent trick a pm to see if there is some warranty on this thing.

I think its been bad for some time. BBP has always said I have really poor fuel quality and it effects the tune. They say oil being ingested can also be causing the pinging they see.
