ok fellas im in need of your assistance here. i just bought a whipple 2.3 s/c
(gets here this thursday) and my questions are, what else do i need before install? i have long tube headers on the way but what size injectors? do i need all those harnesses? do i need the whipple programmer or should i say screw it and get a "real" tune? what about an intercooler? or meth kit? what about my tranny? and im not entirely sure what he means by needing a new crank pulley.... sorry about all the lack of knowledge here... ive been reading up on this stuff for weeks but i think its time i seek some personalized answers if you will lol.

New crank pully? Do you mean pinning you crank pully?, see the sticky in this section. I wouldn't run a supercharger without doing this.
I'm willing to bet that whipple will want most of what a "real" tune will cost you just for their generic hand-held. I don't know if it's true but I thought I read somewhere they won't sell you the tuner unless you get them to recondition the blower anyway.
Injector size will depend on how much boost you're going to run. Talk too whoever is going to give you your tune.

Have someone tune your truck because you will get more power out of it that way. 60lb Siemen dekas will be plenty of injector for your application and have room to grow as well. You will have to buy wireing harness adaptors as well as space your fuel rails to make them work. You also need to upgrade your fuel pump or add an in line fuel pump. Swapping a 4l80e in is a lot more work than just replacing your tranny will a built 60e. You should read up on it before you drop some coin on one. You will also want to put in a stall converter and a tru-track in the rear end.

Your transmission life is directly proportional to the activities of your right foot. If you think you can drive the truck day in and day out and never exceed the same accelleration that your truck had before the blower, rejoice, your tranny will live just as long with the blower. If on the other hand, you're going to exceed your trucks previous performance capabilities in any way, you aught to start researching replacement options now.
Personally, I hate having breakdowns so my upgrade path includes a heavier transmission first. Read about this stuff long enough (especially the positive displacement superchargers) and you're going to start running accross posts that talk about stock tranny life in terms of days, or weeks after a blower was installed.

just pull the bed vs dropping the tank. As far as the tranny gos, the 60 wont last long. Mine lasted about 4/5 months without ever launching it from a dig. Look too spend around $2/2500 on a 80e swap counting a converter. Call John at fuel injector connection in the Atl for the injectors.
