i do like kb's idea and in theory could work . if you live close id give it a shot but that is something that needs lots of tinkering imo.

another setup similar to that would be a variable vain holset (possibly twin) turbos with an aftermarket controller(now available from what ive heard) like stated above will not make the biggest number but can have full boost by like 1500-2000 rpms all the way to wot. imo i see diesels going there and before long i see gas combos making them work as well. the downside is the same as kb's idea it needs lots of tinkering .

I think I may just give the pt88 kit I have another shot, but this time with a bigger stall and custom spec'd cam. I figure the only additional cost I would be out if I went to say a procharger is maybe the cam, everything else I would have to get anyway, but this way I would know for sure about just the single turbo. Trying kyle's idea is also a feasible option if I still dont like just the turbo....and it sounds cool as hell.

diesel guys have been doing the compound thing for awhile. i think it would be the best of both worlds. i'd put a huge wastegate before the high pressure turbo. that way it could breath up top real nice. and with that you could use a little smaller housing on the high pressure to spool super fast. then find a happy median where the high pressure turbo starts to drop and the low pressure is lit off and set the wastegates.

very true but they are doing it for peak # and less lag . im sure im preaching to the choir here but gas motors dont need that much to make good power the reasoning for the compound will be driveability period and at that point possibly a roots/twinscrew and mid/larger turbo but kb has been there and done that.

imo atomic deserves a setup that will last a while and he can have fun with . at least he has the rcsb part going for him now .
