What is the cost of going Turbo?

Anyway you go forced induction is high or goin fast for that matter... What's bad after you spend 10k or so for boost then you need the smae amount just about it for fixing stuff you break

Well I know that I'm new to this board but I figured that I'd throw in my two cents. I just picked up a copy of GM High-Tech at the PX and there's a story in there on a guy who did a budget turbo build for less than $1500. All he did was scavenge parts from all over and made it work. So I guess it really all depends on what kind of time table you're playing with. If you have time then shop around and wait for at least a decent deal. Then custom build your own setup. Just don't forget the supporting mods to go with it.

I really looked into doing a turbo before i bought my tvs, and its not as easy as some think to "piece" together a turbo kit that actually works just how you want. I know there have been a few people on here that have tried to do that and finally gave up and bought all the right stuff. Trying to piece one together if you can't afford the full cost is a dangerous road if you ask me.
