Mine breaks stall to 3500 with no problem on street tires but its to loose. I was reading that they say it better to have a tight converter on boost applications, and I was wondering how big can I go on a converter.

I'm running a Yank Pro Truck 3600 in my turbo 5.3 truck(4L80E). Working great so far.

My precision converter probably stalls close to 2800 and I like it with my t70. I'd probably have it restalled at 3000-3200... and you should have one free restall if you bought it new.

Should I get it tighter? I've seen posts where says a tighter converter works better.

On blowers I've heard the same. In my experience I started with a precision 10" that would flash to only 2200 but I could get it to 2800 with the brake. It was ok. Think I ran 8.9 with 5 lbs boost. I returned it for a 9" that would flash to 3000 and I actually saw 4400 with the brake a few times. It was violent but too loose on the street for my DD unless you got on it. Ran the 7.64 on 20" street tires in 4 hi. Had it tightened to 2400-2500 flash and I loved it on the street and I could brake it to 3400...still violent

Yea restalling it to a 3k would be 'tighter'. Be careful listening to other people's experiences with a different brand of converter though. A converter's manors will change behind different size engines and every company doesn't use the same size to get their stall ratings. Your best bet would be to give circle d a call and tell him your specs and desires. But I would think that you would want about a 3000-3200 stall with a 76mm on a 5.3l
