Default WG/ Boost Controller install questions

I used the turbo port for vacuum reference when installing my wg. I read on LS1 tech that if I'm running a FMIC, I should use the intake manifold for reference...can you guys explain to me the best way to hook up the wg with a FMIC? A diagram may help me as I'm slow at times regardless of my screen name

btw, my setup is a 5.3 w/ STS gt-67 turbo. I'm running an Apexi AVC -r

Not sure with the rear mount but with my front mount I went off the intake manifold. You end up breaking off the little end of the port on the back passenger side to get the opening started. I ran my boost gauge and wastegate off there.

I have read that with the FMIC you need to use intake pressure because there is a difference between what the turbo sees and the intake sees. I don't know if that holds true with rear mounts though.

you will get a better reading from the intake manifold especially with a rear mount and fmic there will be a pressure drop from the turbo all the way to the tb.

got cha! Thanks for explaining it. I'll change it up today. So do I just plug the vacuum port on the turbo?
