Default Well blew my motor and decided to come to the "Dark Side"

About two months ago I blew my motor with 7lbs of boost and 522hp and 570ish tq. It was a lotta fun while it lasted, but the cost of repairing the red headed stepchild motor was just too much to bear. So I decided to sell it and use the cash to help close on my house that I'm having built so I can get back into racing faster
Today I sold my truck to a co-worker here at Bell Helicopter. He had been bugging me for years wanting to buy it but i always kept turning him down. He plans on spending another 5,500 to put in another motor with forged internals and already has the removal of this engine lined up. I'm glad I'll still be able to keep track of how shes doing but just sucks I was never able to enjoy it more than 3-4 months at a time before something else would break. So take care guys I'll see ya on the track again I just will be in a Chevy 2014 singlecab p/u. Going to purchase this probably in Oct. of this year if they can get me out of my lease with ford. If not I'll have to wait till Oct. of 2014 to get one.
Cool thing is I'm getting to keep my bogart racing wheels and slicks and my foose 22's So atleast I'll have a tiny part of this truck still with me.

Probably going to stay n/a for first 6 months or so till i save up enuff for the 4l80e, and twin kit from trick performance. After that i dont really know. I noticed the 4.8L chevy motors being able to take more abuse so i'll probably stick with that platform long as i can get me into the 10's. i really dont know much about chevy parts, but ive got a while to do some research

By October the 2014 new body styles will be out. They wont be making the 4.8L in these trucks, best bet for you would be to pick up the 2013 single cab. Although it would be cool to see one of these new trucks modded, kinda of anxious to see who will do it first.

I think you would be the first twin 4.8l if I'm not mistaken? It might be awhile before efi live and hptuners update their software for the new direct injection though.

So if the new single cab 2014 silverado only comes with 5.3l. How much hp could i expect to get out of it without any major engine modifications? Ive seen the 4.8 can be boosted safely to 15-16 lbs with minor mods like cams and head studs which i think is phenominal..

The new 2014s are an all-new engine that nobody has touched yet. If you're looking to follow some proven build blueprints at all, you're going to want to get a 2013. If you're looking to be a pioneer, the 2014 will be available only with a 6L80E with your choice of a direct-injected aluminum-block VVT 5.3 or 6.2 (discounting the revolutionary new LT-based 4.3 V6 that I assume you don't want). Either one will have the exact same stroke with the bore making the difference, and either one will be a tuning nightmare for a while.

I don't believe GM has yet confirmed or denied whether the 6.2 will be available in the regular cab.
