weld els

Can crack out and won't bond properly and will look like **** with probable perocity( holes).
316 grade stainless will bond to carbon , that's the only way ( that I'm aware of)to properly weld stainless metal to carbon steel is with 316 filler/wire. We weld stainless angle/brackets /piping to carbon/ mild steel at work all the time .
Also my miller 220 mig has stainless wire so I can tack/weld most anything I have laying around the shop.

Most affordable source I have found.

That would be fine for cold side piping but way too thin for hot side .

You can weld SS to mild with any SS rod. The preferred is 309, but 308 and 316 work fine. If you're using a mig, all you need is 308 wire with argon gas.
I try to only use Mild flanges on turbo manifolds because they won't warp during welding or use after the fact. I typically use 304 SS bends, but the 316 weld pretty nice too.
I would not buy weld els in mild from mastercarr. They'll bend you over pretty good. as mentioned above, Ferguson or any other local commercial plumbing supply company will get you a good price.
For reference, I typically pay $5 for a long radius 304ss bend. Looks like the mild bends are more expensive lol.
A good stainless bend online supplier is acestainless.com
They also have mild if thats the way you end up going.
Schedule 40 - 90° Elbows (Weld Els) - Mild Steel - Butt-Weld Fittings - Ace Stainless Supply

^^ yup good info.
Here is a table we are building at work for equipment racks to slide back and forth on with rollers . The the rails are carbon steel , welded to 316 stainless , which us welded to carbon steel plate . All work was done with TIG/ 316 filler ( that's what we have ) and it all is forever , no problems at all with the dissimilar metals
