Good Luck
Good Luck
My Radix set-up will give me plenty of power at the wheels. The power I will be making will put a level 5, 65E FLT tranny to it's limits.
I recommend a blower that your engine, tranny, and truck can handle. You also have to consider how the truck will be used. Daily or occassionally driven vehicle?
Good luck.

I already have a built 80e in the truck rated at 950hp and 1000tq. I dont drive the truck everyday, but like to drive it when I want to. I am looking at it pretty much the way big tex put it. Going from a 112 to a 122 isnt a big jump at all. I know I wouldnt be able to really turn it up with either one until I got the bottom end sorted out, but I dont want to buy one and run it to its limits only to pull it off later and go to something bigger. Im trying to just spend the money one more time. I would like to pull mid to low 11's with this truck and still keep it half assed reliable. And if I had everything to do all over again and hadnt spent a dime on this thing yet I probably would go turbo.

Why don't you set a goal for yourself power wise and/or for your truck in general, and determine what it will take to get there.
for instance:
Do you want 500rwhp, 600rwhp, 700rwhp, More, how much? What kind of driving characteristics are you looking to have? How are you going to use it?
While I think looking at buying the biggest FI head unit is great for future expandability it may not be whats needed for YOUR goals. The 122 may fit the bill, it may not. The KB 2.6 may fit the bill, it may not. Try and determine what you want ahead of time, then follow a path to get there.
This whole business of buying a FI unit so we can continually upgrade later is important for sure, although somewhat misguided IMO, seriously though, there are other equally important things to look at here...............at the end of the day YOU have to live with what you build, how you do so, will depend on how honest you are with yourself about your needs and tolerances
lol, did I just type that?
(father forgive me for I have sinned

I figure to get my heavy *** truck to go mid to low 11's I am going to need at least 600-700rwhp. Now to do it reliably is another set of problems. I drive my truck like I built it, to go fast! I dont beat on it or abuse it, but I love to lean into it and dont hesitate to show what it will do. I have loved the Radix so far with the exception of the belt slip I cant seem to get rid of. The problem is and we all know it, is that it is just a small sc for the 6.0. Now I know the 122 will put out more than the 112. But how much more can you get out of that small increase? I have been seriously looking at it and have the money set aside to do it, but dont want to be throwing up a post in six moths to a year saying I want more. Mabey I would be better off just doing a 408 for now and waiting a year for the tvs. Thats why I threw up this post to get the input from the knowing!
Damn my truck is going to drive me to drinking!
Oh hell who am I kidding it already has!

Sell the radix build a nice boost 408 put some spray on it for a while and see what the next year holds in store for the FI guys. Chances are what you buy now in a year will be old news with how things are changing lately. You could go turbo if you sell the radix

There may not be the level of service Magnuson has, but it is entirely possible that vendors will release complete kits that can go toe-to-toe with the Radix, et al.

I would like to see the same thing. It would be nice to be able to get that out of a 122, but I just dont want my wallet to be the guinea pig. I want to know what I get is going to be capable of getting me to my goals.
