Default Water Intercooler Plumbing?

I'm going to be putting in a different tank where I could throw a bag of ice in it and was wondering if I should do the plumbing different where the water goes from the tank to the intercooler first? Right now I have it where it plumbs from out of the heat exchanger to the intercooler out of the intercooler to the res/tank.

My drawings are not the greatest but you should get the idea of what I'm thinking. I hope......

you want the pump below the tanks low water line and pushing to through the ic then to the hx. This will yeild you the coldest water getting to you ic. IC pumps are designed to push water. Your tank needs to be highest point of the water system. Use a relay on your pump as well to make sure it is getting full voltage.

Another thing you can do during summer street driving route the hose through you heater core and turn the temp. controll to hot. Then you will not need ice unless racing and increases your ic daily driving efficentcy.
