Default wastegate questions

is there a way to tell if one is failing? when i first put the turbo kit on it was a steady 7 psi. ive added since then a tbss intake, 3 1/2 exhaust into a 4'' muffler. i have a manual boost controller and i thought that was it so i turned it all the down. still is a constant 10-11 psi. Any siggestions?

you freed up the exhaust and lowered the back pressure so the wastegate doesnt have much to push it open any more.. i ran into that when i first opened my cutout and saw 25+psi on a 5.8# spring.... Cutout closed it wont go over 5psi.

Depending on gate most are color coded.
Just need to install a lighter spring back so your base psi is reached.

Spring ratings are just a starting point. So many things can effe g final psi not just the gate.
