Default wastegate problems.

I know this has been cover before but I'm having boost problems. 6.0 with Kb kit w/s480 and jgs50 gate in the log. With 2 washers, smaller spring and just the top port referenced I'm only getting 7psi. With no references it only makes 3.8psi. Any ideas before I stack both springs?

Use compressed air on the lower port to make sure the valve has its full range of movement.

top port should be vented if you're not using some type of controller,

if you unhook the vacuum lines completely it only makes 3.8 psi?

Unreferenced= 3.8psi
Referenced bottom port only= 1psi/115kpa
Referenced top port only= 7psi.

Looking for 10-11psi. This kit made 12psi on my other truck with the bottom wg port referenced.

It sounds like the gate is leaking air.

Have you checked for a massive exhaust leak somewhere on the hot pipes?

With the top referenced that turbo should make 40psi before you can lift

Stacked the springs and had the same out come. No exhaust leaks that I can find or hear. Cold side is vband and checked them as well.
