Wastegate on crossover pipe
#1
Hi there, I was wondering if anyone runs a wastegate on their turbo cross over pipe. I'm looking for a place to weld in my wastegate and so far, the cross over pipe would be the easiest, but I'm not sure how effective it would be considering it's not catching/routing the exhaust gas from the other side of the engine. I found this kit on the forum, and I was planning on fabbing the wastegate the same way. So my question is does this method work? How Well? Any input would be greatly appreciated

Yes, It works just fine. Myself and Trick have built hundreds, if not thousands of these type setups. Only ever been very few issues with boost control and I attribute most of those to other factors.

I would say 1000's.

That location has been been used for 10years or better.
Works good on all applications as long as the gate is matched to engine/boost/power range.
Exp. 39mm gate on a 427 trying to run 5psi not happening.
Like mentioned I only know of a couple that boost control issues.
Swap to a larger gate problem solved.
