i just bought a vortec s/c and i m wondering if theres any way to cool the down to get more advance and boost out of them because they dont have intercoolers.im new at this so please dont slam me ,i know you guys never mention them so they must not be liked ,o h well it is what it is ,mine now .i like the simplicity of them looking under the hood.any way alcohol inj,water inj,methinj etc,or do they have an intercooler im not aware of,i appreciate any proffessional opinions thanks,and o allen im still loking for you t,night lol

who says they arent liked? mine took me too a 11.9 run with a stock motor on 22 wheels and a horrible day for weather at the track
they do have an intercooler, you can get it from vortech just buy the pipes , intercooler , heat exchanger and pump or you can fab up your own..

You could do water/meth to cool it down,but you have to give a little more info on your vehicle for any of us to tell you if a intercooler is available,you can forget about the "simplicity"of it after you add one they are all over the place

o4 ss i just mean everyone on here never talks about them {radix,radix,radix},sweet setup could you tell me or show me how you made the int cooler setup.im new on these ,and the intcoolers are major expensive ,wow icant believe it.nowburls1 what do you mean by theyre all over the place.i hope thats good.not bad.i have a stock,lq9 with a nelson tune small cam ,comp roller rockers,springs ,hard pushrods.cam is like 22o /218 540 114 lsa any info would help im doing this ,this weekend.strong build 60le,ngk tr6s,crane fire wires,elec throttle that i hate blaaa,even w tune.any thing hard about tapping oil pan that makes me nervous about pieces falling into oil pan and not beeing able to get shavings out even with an oil change.

o ,i was readind a post that says do not use a meth water mix itl blow u up and it corrodes the fuel lines etc.i s that water inj kit from vortec any good for cooling it only 224 bucks i cant imagine it is and does it hold enoughto last any amount of time before you refill it is my dd,.? can you run more advance all the time with it ?etc .can you buy those pipes for youre int cooler prebent or do you have to get them bent .why couldnt you use other types of pipes if if you have to bend? thanks

there are two versions of the vortech's one intercooled one non intercooled. the version i have is the intercooled obvioulsy. ive modified the kit quiet a bit for the things it lacked( iat sensor moved to boosted side) methanol injection , and a few other things. methanol is corrosive but thats after a while and with a progressive controler it help even more. meth never gets in you fuel lines so it wont do anything to them. id go with an alkycontrol kit if your looking for a meth system. the pipes and aftercooler all come ready to bolt on from vortech. inside the intercoole rlooks just like a radiator. but it cycles cool water through it to cool your intake charge. just do some reading in fi section and it will answer alot of questions.

i just talked to allen and hes hooking me up with a meth kit and a diff maf from a older camaro he said it wires off my maf but more closer to were it goes into the tb.i guess it reads temp diff . and the meth kit runs off my windshield washer fluid? i think i can run meth if i want off it ,idk. right now .i guess ill learn that soon enough .om also getting a bigger fuel pump sent. do you think this weekend when im putting on the s/c i f im running short on time and dont get the fuel pump in ill be ok to fire er up ?im a little confused i think allens having me put the new maf camaro sensor ,the inj sensor and the injector all in the little one foot pipe before the tb.i guess ill find out when i get directions from allen ,any helpfull hints for me when im putting this in starting today would help .first timer here ,lol.i dont even know what to expect or what to feel when im done ,

aftercooled and intercooled re basically the same n todays terminology, intercooled is actually on twin turbo set ups.
but anyway it would have been cheaper to just get an iat sensor for you vortech instead of a new maf. but youll learn.
