Who tuned it?

Sounds to me like he was short on fuel and suffered a little detonation. Boost, too much timing and not enough fuel will do that. Burns the edges off the tops of the pistons.

Well he had a predator tuner and he tuned it him self, But the reason I was asking is bc im looking to buy a 2001 yukon with a vortec on it and wanted to know if anyone has had any problems with the vortec. The guy told me that it has a mild tune but I dont remember what tuner he said that it had.

Superchargers don't hurt engines, engines do.

You really should read a whole bunch here. I don't know how to give you a good answer, there are just too many variables. Take it for a ride, check it out.
How many pounds of boost is it making?

Low mileage engines can easily break ringlands because they arent worn yet. An engine that is built for FI should have the rings filed to decrease the chances of this. It may sound funny, but going FI on a slightly worn engine is safer than a brand new engine(that has too little ring gap)
