Pop the plastic cove off the Hobbs switch on the oil pump and screw the adjustment allen screw most of the way down. That will raise the trigger pressure for it to about 4-5 psi which is fine. Mine used to always go off when it got really cold here and the oil was thick, that fixed it.

I talked to a company this Friday that sells and rebuilds turbos and deals a lot with STS's that run oil pumps. They said not to use an oil restrictor on the journal bearing turbo only on the ball bearing ones. I told them I was running more oil pressure than normal after the engine build because of the shimmed LS6 pump used. And even with that said they suggested I not use a restrictor.
The STS on the Hemi used to do that also and STS said to turn the Hobbs switch like KB said. If that doesn't work they said to upgrade the oil pump to the high volume unit they use on their Corvette system.

Keep the good info flowing! while we are solving all my woes, what should I do about the lil filter on the switch spraying oil on long boost sessions? THANKS for all the responses!

I finally turned up the boost! Pushing 10.5 lbs now. Only problem is I get the ole buzzer after a few seconds of boost. I need a restrictor and a wastegate spring for 10 lbs(not sure about trusting my manual boost controller). Who can get me these ASAP?! What size orifice do I need for a restrictor?

As for the buzzer going off - that means your scavenge pump is dying.Trust me I know. I had oil pissing out the turbo after the fact. The fact the buzzer is going off at all means that you have oil build-up bewteen the turbo and scavenge pump. Messing with the pressure switch will only turn off the warning which defeats the purpose of having the buzzer. Check your turbo too, you probably have oil in the intake pipes by now. Do yourself a favor and get an ExaPump

Provided you still have the STS tial wastegate, here ya go

I want to replace it wit a catch can, but I want to do it right. I need to run a hose plunbed to the filter side of the turbo to draw the vapor off correct? You have any pics of this can installed? Hell, I won't have anything STS on this thing by the time I move the turbo up some, rewire it , and upgrade the oil pump! Ha ha ha

Oh trust me, by the time I fixed all the flaws in the STS kit, it wasn't an STS kit anymore. I'll get some pics of the breather tank setup when I get a chance but the breather tank eliminates the PCV all together. I was skeptical of the breather tank setup at first but I think it's the best way to setup the crankcase with a boosted application. All the breather system is, is a breather tank with hoses running from it to the valve cover nipples. This way, the crankcase breathes through the breather tank and the oil has no way to escape. Even with filters on the valve covers, the oil can still work its way out the valve cover - happened to me.

The fact your buzzer is going off AT ALL means there is a problem. Your scavenge pump is probably dying. And that's a big negative on the .120 restrictor. Try to stay at least below .70 unless your turbo is REALLY big.

That makes no sense to me??? If I have a small line now with no restriction, would a .125 (1/8") restriction not slow the amount some while still allowing enough oil to lubricate?? My buzzer never goes off at 7 psi, only when I try to boost over 9 . Some people are using a .065 restrictor on a journal turbo without issue. Keep in mind, the pump is probably dying, but I am trying to get through the shootout tomorrow and I wanna run more than 7 lbs! THANKS for the replies!!
