Default vacuum leak at closed throttle.

Having a hard time tracking down small vacuum leak. It is only apparent at closed throttle. Does this norrow down the posable places for the leak? Checked all the lines themselves and all are good. Sprayed carb cleaner around different connections not getting anywhere. Any thoughts? Thinking it may be the cause of my check engine light.

Gotcha... what's vac show at idle? There's a little reference port on the passenger side of the intake, is the tab still connected on it? Is this a new motor? Who put the intake manifold on?

I had hell trying to track down a leak on mine one time, but figured it out when I noticed one of my injector lock clips were missing! I let a friend put the intake manifold on and he somehow got that clip wedged inbetween the intake and head on #8 port. Also when I pulled the intake, I ditched the factory intake gaskets for the metal fel-pro ones with the thick silicone gaskets. These are far better than the factory ones, in my opinion.

Using that for my wastegate. Have the truck apart now so cant start it. Will let you know idle vac later. Looking for a good spot to tap the compressor housing for manual boost controller right now.

I'd say anywhere on the snout will be fine... maybe closer to the compressor wheel end

I was hoping there would be a flat spot to drill and tap no such luck but got it done anyway. Vac at idle cold was 8#. Warmed up it was 11#. Think i am going to get a pressure regulator for my compressor and charge the system with 3# of air. Then hose her down with soapy water.

No problem! I remember all the setbacks you've went through! If that's a stock motor, then that vac seems low to me. It's more than likely gonna be something simple... besides all that, have you got to run it good get, and did you find a good tuner?
