Snowmobile turbo systems have their own oil system, a small circulating pump that weighs 5 oz and their own catch tank for recirculation. I was thinking this would be the way to go if I ever did a rear mount.

Mark Carlyle's Corvette has the turbo after the Y. It doesn't appear to be slowing him down any:

I've run stock manifolds, midlength headers and lts. Each setup got a bigger turbo, all were with a 408 setup for it. There was no real turbo lag and my last setup (twins on headers) had instant boost on tap, just like PD blower.
Like Quicksilverado said in his posts above -- it will work great as long as you aren't going for max power (e.g. full effort, big bucks). Both he and I were early adopters...

It will work, i tried all three also with the same TC78 turbo, it ran the best with manifolds and the downsized y-pipe. Im sure the fact that you had a 408 helps, 408's move some serious amounts of air!. The manifolds retain a lot more heat and have a lot less surface area to fill than the long tubes, the more heat you can retain in the piping before the turbo the more velocity your going to end up with. I hated getting rid of my long tubes since the stock manifolds are so ugly.... it was well worth the swap though. If you run a big enough stall it will fix all your lag issue's with any one of the 3 im sure.
