It's strictly a hobby truck...I dont really want to do a forged rebuild, but I'm sure 8psi will get boring after a while and I'll do the rebuild to be able to push 12-15psi...I just wanted to get opinions on whether it was a "BIG" risk to leave the lower assembly completely stock for now...eventually I want this brick to break 11 so anything is possible a couple years from now...

Lucille: if it wasn't a boost or tuning issue than it really shouldn't matter which blower you bolted on; either way you probably would have lost the piston if it was a bad piston to begin with, and either way you'd be screwed on warranty. May as well get what you want and forge later if you want to turn it up.
The Edelbrock (TVS) and Whipple (twin-screw) kits for the 6.2 only come with a 2.3-liter compressor; I don't see any reason not to get the 2300 for your truck.

Is any one brand better than another for the 6.2?? BBP sells the Maggie so I was gunna go with that...definitely want the TVS2300 for the ability to turn it up later...everyone knows once you start a project like this it's never "finished"...

I would have no problem with going through BlackBear Performance. I was just pointing out that there are companies that offer nothing but a 2.3 for the 6.2 in response to Lucille saying that the 2.3 is more risky than the 1.9.

Just make sure the tune is spot on, you have plenty of fuel, and the fuel you have is the octane you're tuned for. My LS3 (stock 10.7 compression ratio I think) is running fine after 3 years and about 25K miles. All with a TVS2300 on top. It's been quarter mile racing and road course racing too. Went 10.8/133mph a week ago in some pretty warm weather. You won't have a problem if it's done right.

I DD my L9H with a 2.3L Whipple with no issues. I'm currently at 9psi but it will likely drop a little after I install my LT's. A word of warning, your stock injectors will pretty much be maxed. Most supercharger kits don't include injectors for the L9H because they flow pretty well (close to 50 lb/hr) but you'll need at least 55 lb/hr to be at 80% duty cycle at WOT at higher speeds.

Do plan to upgrade injectors and fuel pump when installing the blower...Its a fairly cheap upgrade to make sure everything stays in sync...Justin has me tuned for 93octane at the moment, so I'm sure once boosted the 93 will be sufficient...I've never ran anything less except for the day the truck was purchased the dealership had a full tank of 89 in it(dumbasses)...I'll also be upgrading plugs and wires, and am also thinking of Snow Performance meth injection from the get go...but not sure yet...
