Both brands use Eaton TVS cases.......

Remember this kit was designed for a 07 up NNBS 5.3, some of us guys adapted them to suit our combos

I decided to spec my own cam for my LS383 build. I've been studying what has worked for other people for the last couple of years on this site and others. When I got my custom cam, curiosity got the better of me and I sent the engine specs to Pat G to see if our numbers would be anywhere close to each other. To my surprise, my specs were only off by a bit, the LSA and advance being identical and the durations differing by only a couple of degrees.
If a guy puts enough time into looking at these things, he can learn a lot about the required components. I'll be proud when I'm driving around with my self-speced cam in my home assembled engine. Can't wait.
Every engine is unique and has its own personality. That's what makes building them so rewarding. To do it your way with your chosen components makes it more rewarding in the end.

I wanted to thank all the members who helped me out, contributed ideas and suggestions. Build is now complete which includes TVS1900, FLT 7, PI 2600 Vigilante, Kooks headers and Pat's specked out cam. ProCharger is gone, found its way to a new owner already. Car is pleasure to drive, has a lot of bite and ... now I want more I'll definitely get a new muffler as my Flowmaster is a drone nightmare and too loud for dd. I would want something more tame and definitely no ******* drone .

Special thanks to Hans and Brandon for putting it all together.

Your build sounds sweet. Enjoy. After fooling with lots of aftermarket mufflers on several different rigs, I'm convinced that it's either Corsa or stock mufflers and cutouts. Nothing else I've tried has had enough flow and/or sound control to suit me. Truck in my sig has resonators in front of M'flows and is still too loud. Vette in sig has Corsas and is a whole lot more civilized. Both have LT's and no cats.

Absolutely. But this will have to wait few days. It was -6 (F) on my way to work today. I'll burn what's left off my tires for this vid.

I'm very pleased with the results so far and I sure don't want to make another mistake with the exhausts (I bought that disappointing Flowmaster a while back). Man it's so hard sometimes to properly gauge someone's advice as a lot of them are purely subjective and there is no one size fits all solution. Some people swear by 5x11x22 Magnaflow muffler but others, like you, say it's still to loud. I'd get Corsa touring but it's so damn expensive and they don't sale mufflers alone. You can get two M'flows mufflers + install and not even pay half of what you'd have to fork over for Corsa's exhaust.

For what it's worth, I have the big body 22" magnaflow on my catless LT's and with muffler alone, it was way too loud. Threw a 4"x14" magnaflow bullet in front, quieter, but still too loud. On the highway, it's fine, but around town, it draws attention. I bought a 7"x14" magnaflow muffler to replace the 4" with, but have yet to put it on. Hopefully that will take care of it.
