TVs 2300 or Tvs2650 on 5.3
#1
Hi
I have a 2010 truck with 5.3 engine recently fully built with Magnuson tvs1900 with upgraded fuel system and injectors.
I made 400 whp @4 psi with 3.7 pulley.
485 whp @10-12 psi with 2.8 pulley at 16 degree of timing.
I'm looking in the range of the 600 whp for now.
I talked to superchargeronline that I can upgrade my supercharger to 2300 (radix max) and it will cost around 3100$.
Tvs2650 will cost around 8k$ as I will need adapters and swap to 8 rib.
I know bigger is not always better as the tvs2650 will not build boost as fast as tvs2300 but it will run cooler.
so what will be the best choice ?

actually I’m not planning to across 750 whp even in future as I use it in the street and fun not built for race.
I was planning to go with Tvs2300 but I'm afraid it will not produce 600 whp boost only without over spinning the supercharger.
now all the dyno numbers are on 95 oct only. I was hopping to produce 550 whp on my current build but as my tuner said the supercharger is holding the engine .

@terravast4 has a fairly well maxed out 2300 right now and makes just over 600whp on a 383 If I remember correctly. @03sierraslt had a maxed out 2300 as well on a 370 but don't remember how much power. I think both will tell you bigger is better and for 750whp a 2650 is likely a must.
Plus you can always pulley up a bigger blower to make less boost but you can only go so far on pulleying down without losing efficency. Somewhere in here theres a badass spread sheet from Atomic that allows you to put in blower size, engine size, pulley, and some other factors to calculate boost and an estimated HP number. https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...-519358/page8/
@smokinlmm has a nice 5.3 2300 setup as well not sure if he's dynoed but I know he dailys his.
***Edit*** Sorry if you don't like being tagged just cuss me in PMs

I have a forged internal with stock crank (same displacement ) with TrickFlow heads. I’m running 20” tires.

If I was going to upgrade I would do the 2650. There are many examples of 6.2's hitting 800+. Also it is a more efficient blower than the 2300 although the 2300 would certainly get you there no problem. Or save the money for your level. I just like overkill...

There is 600 rwhp in your tvs1900 just push it harder and have tune dialed in. There is no need for an upgrade if your just after 600, the 5.3 is your biggest limiter now you need displacement and boost for 750 and higher. I daily mine at about 575 rwhp with a tvs1900, its a handfull under full boost. What belt are you running and are you overdriven?

20" rims with what size tires? Street tire or an off-road type tire? What are the camshaft specs? Standard crankshaft balancer or 10% over?
If you cannot run more than 92 octane making bigger power becomes a challenge.
