Default TVS 1900 a little disapointed

I finally got my TVS and got it installed on my 07 5.3 truck it is super quiet and really doesnt have the power I expected. Dont get me wrong it does pretty good. Before the TVS I was running 14.50ish in the quarter now I have not run it at the track but I dont think its any faster than a 13.50 I thought I would see more from it. I did add a few degrees of timing to magnachargers tune this helped. Also it has a 3.7 pulley that seems big havent got to check boost yet been working alot. How small of a pulley can I use and what is my boost limit any opinion welcome

wow... mine was a HUGE difference over stock. Maybe ditch the shorties and get some LTs?

Are you doing the tuning? It's gong to need a lot more tweaking than just a few degrees of timing to run at full potential.

dropping a second in the 1/4 is equal to ~100hp gain How much did you expect from a stock kit? Drop down pulley and gain boost but be warned, that's where it's going to start getting expensive

yours bein 4wd might be holding back your full expectation.

Mine went from a 14.8 to a 13.3 with just 6psi from a turbo.

Get a wideband on it and a boost gauge and get to work on tuning.. Their tune is way safe.

shoot for roughly 11.5afr, not sure on the timing cause of too many variables.

With that 3.7 pulley on a 5.3, I guess your only making about 5 psi of boost, pulley down!

Thanks for the replies yea long tubes are next on the list didnt know any better when I bought the shorties. Yea Im doing the tuning I got the na stuff down just got to figure the supercharger tuning out. What pulley should I use? I want some power Im already this far in. I have heard long tubes drop the boost about 2 psi is this true? If yes what pulley Im thinking a 3.0-3.2 Im going to check the boost tomorrow

But the TVS1900 is just a cheap, $5000 bolt on right?

They may drop the exhaust backpressure 2psi, but they don't have anything to do with boost. A 3.2 would be a nice kick, probably somewhere around 10psi boost.

Boost is a measurement of restriction. If you add headers, the restriction will go down.....as will your boost reading.

Do not look at it as "loosing boost" you are gaining flow, and its all about how much air you can flow.
