Default Turbo Upgrade....Worth it?

I've got the stock T-60 that came with the STS kit and I was wondering if the T-67 would give me any gains if I'm running the same amount of boost?

From what I understand it should help without any real downside. I think its a lot more efficient. I'm not sure if I would spend the money though, you can get a 6.0 complete engine barely used for $1500 or less. Good luck.

How much more hp would I be gaining? Would it be worth it if I could pick it up for $400? Didn't really want to go the swap route. Thanks for the info!

I wouldn't do it if your not going to turn up the boost. All your doing is increasing the capacity of the compressor, and making it slightly more efficient. I don't think you would see any, real noticeable power increase.

A T-67 is nothing more then a T-60 with a different compressor wheel and the housing machined out for it to fit.

You can push the 60 to about 500 rwhp. Much more than that and you should upgrade. The 67 will have more lag also.

X2. You are better off with the T-60 un less you go over 10PSI. Might be a good idea to pick it up anyway for possable upgrade in the future, if you plan to run big boost, or go to a 6.0l. $400 seems like a good price, if it's in good shape.

Why? You can add 2-3 lbs of boost, still be plenty safe and gain more (50-70hp?) then what you would by spending a bunch of cash on heads.

You have meth and an intercooler, you can run 10-11 psi on a good tune with out any problems

I will be cranking the boost up to 10psi and that's why I was wondering about the turbo upgrade. I have to get my FLT tranny first since I've still got the stocker. Would heads be the next mod after I crank up the boost????

I'd just keep turning you the boost till you break more parts No need for heads, until you get really extreme on a FI motor. Parish has shown you can make lots of hp on stock motor with only a small cam and 15 lbs of boost. Probable more then a FLT Lv 5 can handle. No since throwing money at things like heads when you still have more turbo left.

You've got a good setup going there, if your gona up the boost, I'd look into a T70 turbo and some 60lbs injectors and shoot for 15 or so lbs of boost. That should be in the neighborhood of 600rwhp with proper tuning. Also, since your running a STS, if you haven't already, wrap your exhaust pipes from the manifolds all the way back to the turbo. You won't believe how much of a difference it will make in spool up time.
