X2. I've only heard of that for airplanes (I'm sure those wastegates are wicked expensive). Its a special wastegate that basically modifies wastegate spring pressure based on atmospheric pressure.

Haha thanks DUBZ. And my truck was also on fire, but only for a few minutes. Worst feeling ever...

Go turbo like i told you turd!!! Blowers work ok out here but we have to pulley them up to make up for our shitty air. P1's don't do too great out here but the D1's works great, "ShanesSS"'s truck hauls on a D1! I just like with the turbo setups that you can go up or down in power with the turn of a dial or simple spring change. I think a 70mm kit would do great on his 4.8 and make for a killer and very reponsive street truck! Can't go wrong with making power off of your engine's waste, basicly free power! Its a stock 4.8l short block with shaved ls6 heads, egr delete, ls6 cam, ls6 springs, ls6 oil pump, ls7 lifters, comp double roller billet timing set and arp head bolts. 7-8 lbs of boost would make her beg for a 4l80e lol

Why do you think 7-8 lbs of boost coming from a turbo will work better than 7-8 lbs of boost from a blower? Boost is boost

Whoa, whoa..... i never said it would work better in my reply? I've had both on my truck and i just like the power/feel from my turbo setup better. I got tired of the pulley, belt changes to raise or lower boost and messing with 6/8/10 rib conversions to get rid of belt slip. I don't have anything against blowers, love the feel of a D1SC or a nice Maggie setup! Our buddy shane's Silverado SS hauls *** on a D1SC, feels amazing.

Sorry it was TieRod who said that. How much power were you making to get belt slippage?

It's very easy. A blower is dependent on crank speed. As was stated before you have to pulley them up for the bad air. Going to higher altitude can limit boost or lower altitude could get you into over boost. A wastegated turbo relies on spring to regulate boost. Change in altitude doesn't change spring rates. When the air thins out the turbo will spin faster till it achieves the required boost pressure to open the wastegate. As anyone that lives in Colorado knows change 5000 ft in altitude is a short drive away.

I think my belt slippage was more a mechanical issue.

yeah buddy, our track is at 6000ft and the corrected DA in the summer is between 7000-10000 ft most of the time!

My Maggie would be making 19 or 20 psi at sea level. I make 17 here in Denver. If I don't reach some personal goals this year up at Bandi next winter I will be doing a twin set up.
