Turbo size y'all
#1
Decided I'm going to do a single setup sometime in the near future, just not sure what size I should look for.
About the truck:
91 S10 full time awd (3.73 gears, not interested in changing gearing)
5.3 w/cam and cai
4l70e and stockish converter for now
I was thinking 76mm which gives me room to grow if I put in a bigger inch lsx in the future? I'm not interested in breaking any records I just want good reliable power. I can figure out headers/manifolds, placement, injectors, etc., but I don't have a lot of experience with turbos. I also don't want to spend $1500 on a turbo. What are your thoughts on size and ar with the awd and gearing? Thanks for any input guys.

I'd like to see 500-600whp but more is fine also. My concern is the gearing the gearing/awd and ar ratio. I imagine with the awd the engine will be under pretty good load even with the 3.73s? When I'm ready to buy Jake if it's what I'm looking for I'll certainly give you a shout. I should also say if I had to, I would drop $1500 on a turbo but that would be my max.

In that case that 74/75 would be pretty good for yours actually. Turbine size is way more important than housing AR. AWD/4wd adds about 10% drivetrain loss, so if you want 600rwhp shoot for 660rwhp on a "normal" application and it will get you close.
