So of you might remember seeing a thread I started a while back regarding the rearend in my truck whining and roaring and now pinion seal leaking. Anyways I'm getting ready to rebuild. I guess I will be using the east coast gear setup and adding a truetrac of course, but now the age old question. 3.73 or 4.10s? Let's here what ya got

305/ 40/ 22's. 6spd. Just curious on what y'all thought. I noticed yesterday on the interstate I was going 80@2000 and 70@16-17ish. Stock is 342 by the way. I guess I am mainly curious as to what 410s with a spd would be like

 

im around 2300 at 80 mph with my 6 speed and 4.10s

 

With steep first gear of the 6 spd you should be fine with 3.73...

Staying NA... I'd go 4.10....maybe even 4.88

Blown...I'd stay with 3.42.

 

I have 3.73, 32" Tire with the 6spd auto. There are times when I wished I went with the 4.10s. I went with GM Motive gears and I get a really faint whine at 45mph. Do some research on vendors before you pull the trigger. Of course, it can depend on installation but I hear folKS say theirs is setup correctly but get whine anyway.

 

I have richmond gears with an eaton posi and have no whine.... If rear is setup properly there ahould be no whine....
