i know you guys are guna get tired of hearin this question, but what about a turbo off of like a 6bt cummins, mbe4000 mercedes diesel, dt444e (7.3l power stroke). i have access to these and i know that i would prolly spend more money trin to make one of these work compaired to just buyn a new one, but just a thot.
and did you make your own turbo flange or did you buy one?

Probably too big. I don't recall what the sizes are like, but that's a pretty big engine. It may depend on what year you're talking about also - I think some models have some complicated turbine stages for braking purposes.
If you're talking a stock 5.3, I would think this would be a pretty nice turbo provided that you are ok running the VNT in one position.

this is WHY im asking these questions. i have a mercedes turbo layin in my shop. i also have a 6bt turbo layin in my shop. i have access to many dt444 turbos. then i have a good friend that works at a truck salvage yard that has pretty much everything i will need and if he dont have it, he can find it.
it depends if i like the "rims" (wich is wat i thought you played basketball with)
i appreciate all the input from everybody wether positive and some negative, but if your guna shoot down my ideas then id appreciate it if you didnt reply to the thread.
thanks

i pissed around trying to make a twin kit with used tractor turbos work for close to a year. i had oil burning issues, housing size issues, hard to tune, etc. Got them both rebuilt, still burnt oil and worked poorly. Got fed up, ripped it all off and bought a master power t70 for less than i had into the other crap, built a new system in about three nights and have had a blast with it ever since!

I'm being realistic with you. I'm not going to sugar coat things, I don't do it here or in real life. I'd just assume help make sure you don't waste your time on something you'll be unhappy with rather than tell you to go ahead and do it knowing it will be a waste of time.
If you just want everyone to agree with you, then by all means I support you putting a supra turbo on your truck.

you made a freakin thread asking for people's opinions. which means if you have bad ideas, then someone who obviously knows more than you, is going to shoot them down. therefore WE would appreciate it if you didnt make threads for us to reply in.
