I thinking i need more power to tow a rv that weighs 6000lbs. Not looking for a race setup, just more power. It has to be as reliable as possible as this is my dd. Truck is a 2006 z71 ccsb 5.3L 4l60e 3.42 ALL STOCK.
Im thinking a front mount with ebay intercooler. Something like a 67mm and 5-7lbs boost. All hot side heat wrapped, to try and hold heat down.
How much hp/tq should i expect?

For 5-7 boost and not looking for race power, are you against a simple bolt on supercharger and tune flash? Just thinking that would give you the HP/TQ your looking for and the least amount of work. Also would likely cost less money as well if you buy a used one.

What he said but a turbo isnt a bad idea. And probably in your application a turbo will result in better MPG than an SC even with the conservative tune you will want to run.
For either you will want to put your money toward cooling monitoring and good tuning with an eye toward failsafes.

Roots style blower would be alright, but they seem more expensive. Centrifical blowers are not what I'm looking for.
You guys don't think a 4l60e can hold up to 5-7lbs of boost? Again I'm not building this for full throttle blasts. Just need more power to make it up some mountions pulling 6000lb trailer.

Also I'm pretty good at fab work and would build everything myself.
My main concern is engine over heating from the heat the turbo and hot side makes. Also tuning the engine with hptuners for boosted app. I've done a SD tune back in 2003 on my high 9 TA, so I know alittle about tuning.

Just street tune while pulling a trailer.
The over heating should not be an issue due to turbo heat. If radiator and fans are up to the task. Over heating will be more from tuning/ right foot.
The engine compartment will get hotter but shouldn't start melting anything if fabricated proper spacings. And with wraps really no problem.
Tuning will be key and don't go to large in turbo. Be laggy andvdefeat the purpose of the build.

60e will not last long at all. I would do a t60 turbo and 5 lbs. It will spool fast and give you a lot more trq down low and mid range where you need it for towing. Turbo will be better for gas mileage than a S/C also.
