Turbo selection
i was wondering on what size turbo would be good for my application. I will be running a remote mount on my ecsb with a 6.0 and 4l80e, the motor is basically stock. I have pacesetters lts with 3in. I am shooting for all around power a little low end and a little high end. I am going to brave building my own kit, it doesnt seem too hard. I am shooting for around 450-600 rwhp. If any one has some suggestions please let me know i am new to the whole turbo thing. If anyone has some part# of suggested turbos please let me know.
Thanks, Ryan

garrett GT ball bearing with a 67mm compressor, you'll probably want at least a .86 on the exhaust side if not a bit bigger. I built my own remote setup for my 4.8 with a T4, 60mm compressor, .68 exhaust housing and I hit full boost (6psi for now) at 2500 rpm, really wakes it up. The pacesetters may not help you unless you wrap them, they will shed heat more than the stock manifolds. You want to keep all the heat you can to spool that turbo in the back.

A GT series 67 is a good turbo but I bet ball bearings would not be required. My GN has a 67 with a .63 housing and it reaches 27 psi of boost almost instantly off the line and it is only 231 cubic inches and it is not a ball bearing turbo. My car has cut a 1.500 60' on drag radials leaving off the foot brake and it has more left because if I stall it up too hard it will blow the DR's away. Of course a ball bearing turbo would not hurt but it would be roughly double the price and I bet wouldn't make that much difference in that application. Once you get into the bigger turbos ball bearings are definately an advantage.
