Yeah I need to fix this problem before I compound it by adding boost. I just don't have the time/energy/money to pour into it anymore. I hope it's an easy fix. Bad valve seals would be nice to find right now. I was hoping to be boosted again within 6 months, it may be a lot longer than that.

my vote is for the gts76 with a .96ar as well. probably wont get you to 900rwhp but i know a pt88 is a little laggy and the 76 wont be. i dont know anything about the gt47 turbo, it might be loads better than either the gts76 or pt88

i did some general compressor map figuring. i went with 20psi and a figure because that will pretty much limit you to pump gas. you mentioned a 6300rpm redline as well.

i used .88 ve. that might be a little much, but then again, this isn't super accurate anyways.

45r will run you about $3000

47 journal bearing will run you about $2000

42 journal bearing would be about $1000

t76 probably $1200~$1800 depending on what brand (innovative, turbonetics, precision)

i would try to find a gt45 journal bearing if i were in your shoes. cheaper turbo, cheaper to rebuild, spool should be good.

Be gentle on him, he's a truck noobie Oh and boostedsl2, Thunders truck is a 6.7L. 15psi is probably a more realistic number on pump gas for these motors.

This is the man who's info/testimony I was basing my suggestion on. I know Chris drives his truck ALOT and wouldn't be happy with a laggy turbo even if it made more HP on the top end.

FWIW, you could have 2 turbos, A gt76 for everyday (good budget turbo and nice price) And a bigger PT 88 for the track/dyno to make big numbers (could put off buying this turbo off for a while). It would only take about 30 minutes to swap them out.

Hell with two v-bands and quick disconnect on oil lines you could swap it in 10 minutes. Russels makes some NICE quick disconnects.

you could probably bet by with 22~24 psi on 93 octane or even a couple more with a methenol injection kit, but thats my personal rule of thumb.

thats like a bare bones figure.

thats sucks, i can do 6.7 also. should be that much different though.

pt88 and a gts76 are NOT direct swaps. even if you get the pt88 with the t4 flange.
