Is there any downside to running 20w-50 over 5-30 or 10-30 if you live in a warm climate in your opinion?

I think it would be fine on a turbo application, but not a necessity. The oil heater (turbo) thins it up a bit more than normal. Just don't romp on it right away when the oil is still cold.

Welp, I switched to Rotella T6 5W-40 and my oil pressure didn't change much at all, maybe 1-2psi more at cruise. Valvetrain noise is still loud any annoying, I guess that's the cost of using dual springs!

T6 has more zinc in it that Mobil 1 too.

Amazon has valvoline vr1 for around 83 shipped for a case of 12. Seems reasomable and about the same price as brad penn.

Looking on tech I found that it was not advisable to run over 0.100 on LS7 lifters.
