Default Turbo oil change

I have been thinking about trying something new. I run Mobil 1 truck and suv 10-w30, with a wix or delco filter. I haven't had a single problem but I thought I read somewhere that Mobil was starting to suck.

I did some searching and this is the only thread I found with relative info but still doesn't directly apply to my application.
https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...ngines-486804/

I drive my truck everyday, its not a race application, I change my oil every 3k unless I beat on it more than normal and then I change it sooner. I noticed around the time I get ready to change the oil, I have a oil burning smell like its getting thin and not draining from the turbo properly or something. It might be in my head, because im so picky.

But my question is, if or should I change from Mobil 1 what should I change to? Any negative effects of swaping oils? I have run mobil in the truck since I got it a 32,xxx miles and now have 76,xxx! Give me your opininons please!

Change it to a good mix of mud and sand and Im sure you'll see a huge difference in HP numbers!

you said you wanted to go fast hahahahahaha! already tried sand and mud, and the freaking sugar in the gas did not provide the same effects as me eating a bunch of candy bars!!!!!!! It must be the DA or the air temps here

my 5.3 with 165k mi on it holds a pretty steady 60psi oil pressure. Running Amsoil 100% synthetic, using 10w-30 in the summer and 5w-30 in the winter. I dont plan on changing this even after my turbo goes on.

Rotella, or Castrol is what I have always ran in my cars, bikes, boats ect.. Currently using rotella... I find if you are changing your oil when it is supposed to be changed, conventional oil works just fine.. My engine, heads are spotless..

been running vr1 synthetic racing oil 20w-50 since turbo and wouldn't use anything else. foose's post just backed up my thinking. oil is seeing a lot more heat w/ turbo. i change it every 500-1000 miles. don't know if i would run racing oil w/ dd tho. it needs changed often and isn't cheap. everytime i drive mine (~2x month) i run it very hard, so racing oil works for me.
