i would sit down and figure out what your goals are for the truck. once you figure out what you want research the hell out of it and find all the little cheap stuff( lol yeah right) you can afford right now. that way when you do have the money you have all your suporting mods done. your bike should be payed off by then and you can just get a nice turbo kit.

ok. I kinda figured the turbo would be a little small since the intro level Trick kit is a .68 AR I belive and the ones I've been seeing are about .50 and under. I found a couple used Diesel Garrets but nothing promising since most of them have "a small rock imprint on an impeller blade". Im really not a big fan of nitrous and never have been, but its definitely an avenue.
Chris, u made a lot of sense, haha I think u spent quite enough money just on ur trans that u could tell me I can **** in my gas tank and give me 50HP. All seriousness I guess I really just need to wait for that 6.0 and 4L80E, but it seems a little un worth it in the end for maybe another hundred horse over what Im at now, but the only way to go is up right.. So for now baby steps? Finish this motor off then move on to bigger and better?

Anyone know of a good Machine Shop here in AZ that can do some 289 heads??

good call as well. I guess I just need to lay out my options now that are easily built on to how my truck is now. I know if I did a turbo it'd probly be best to swap the cam back out for like an LS6 cam. So from here I guess Im still at the option of getting my heads milled and P&P'd. Im not expecting anything cheap cuz nothings cheap anymore haha

whats a good place to go after heads are milled? what can I even expect from the head job?

i guess you need to take 2 steps back to take 5 forward.

are P/P 289 heads going to go good with a 6.0? no point in spending the money on those heads if their not going to go good with your future plans.

do you have elec fans? if not those might be a good investment for the long haul.

look for the things that can swap over to the next motor and make a huge increase. they may not be the best thing for the 4.8 but they will be for the 6.0 or 6.0 turbo. sorta like when parish bought his 408 cam and put it in the 6.0 for the time being. but you also have to take in to consideration your skill levels. parish swaps motor faster then most people can cook a steak.

hahaha, well that truck was pretty dam fast

I guess really Im just planning on keeping this motor a whole incase my brother still wants it for his Sonoma. Maybe I should just wait till I find out if he wants it or not and save more for the 6.0 and let him have some fun with this motor? After all I did the cam swap with Chris and I didnt wanna buy a truck that was already done up cuz not eveyones taste is the same. This is really good insight. I appreciate it Lance, makes a lot of Sense. U and Chris should make a team haha
