Hey Ckirley just checking if you have made any more progress and wanted to express my interest as I think we can learn some stuff here.
Also if you need any FEA done I can help, or maybe making simulink models as well, although its something I struggle with I am always trying to learn but I have done some basic things like timed reservoir blowdown and selected choke sizes and stuff like that that you can back up with empirical hand calc formulas.
Also checking to see if you need anything maybe I could donate to the cause? I can't really think of much I have now that would be of any use though.

It would be nice to know it good enough to use the built in simscape tools for driveline and engine stuff but it's like you have to have everything perfectly right in a certain range or the thing blows up haha

Pretty sure I'm not on that level haha. When you want to model and sim things and don't need to worry about 2d and 3d you would think it's going to be the best thing ever, until you spend hours trying to fix buggy instability and then you get a result and no way if knowing if it's plausible or not.

I would love though to be able to put together a engine model and we could put in different turbos and compressor maps and change things and look at simulated pressures and temperatures and stuff, and also put together a driveline model and stuff like that. Even something really basic just to get an idea of the exponential nature of increasing loads and cylinder pressures with forced induction.
I have a licensed copy of Dynomation and Drag Sim, which I find is a very good program. However I don't like it that its mostly based on a lot of empirical data and is made for people who don't want to do theory or math or science. Its also closed source so there is no tweaking or modifying and no understanding how you got the answer, although its supposed to be very accurate apparently.
What I find really interesting is how it gives you the engine output and its dependent on such a small number of variables, basically head flow, valve size, smallest port cross sectional area, and port length and taper.
