Turbo Lag
#1
I have a 2005 f150 with rear mount 70mm turbo and it takes a while to get into boost. Once it’s in boost it pretty much stays there. I had .96 at and changed to .68 and it made a lot of difference was just wondering if I change my rear gear from 3:73 to 4:10 if that would help any? Thanks

I don't think it will make a ton of difference. I had 5.3 with a 67mm and 81 ar and it helped incredibly though going from 3.42 to 4.10's. Stock exhaust and mounted in place of the muffler with no tailpipe.

You bet. Normally a converter matched to the cam may help more before gears if you can live with it. Also depends on your tires and tire and wheel weight. I had a 10.5" converter that would flash to maybe 2700-2800 as I recall at the time. I switched to the 4.10's and was at only 5-5 1/2 lbs. Went to 4.10's with no changes one weekend to the next and dropped from a 9.54 to 8.90 in the 1/8th and the cam didn't really wake up until about 3500. A world of difference though! I guess it was a dog from a dig because of a 02 ZO6 cam. Truck ran 10.39 stock. Eventually ran time in sig.
