the kit is only as good as the install if you do a shitting install, you can only expect shitty performance.

We opted to change a few things as we went alon on the kit, but for the most part...this is how it came out of the box.

as stated above, the STS is more than capeable of making 1000 rwhp! Its all about the size of the turbo!

STS makes an awesome turbo and so does Trick, best advice I feel anyone can give you is for you to weigh your options, read any forum post that has anything to do with forced induction, and take your time. Also, if you can find someone who has a system on their truck and feel the difference for yourself. I am bias to the front mount Trick setup, quick spool, good mounting location, a few less complications involved without the remote mount when dealing with your oil supply...but to be fair to STS, I have been in Allens (Nelson Performance) avalanche many times and it is very impressive. Do your homework and jump in with both feet. Shake and bake.

I'd Go with the Trick Setup! Sold my Procharger and going with a Front mount setup from Trick. I'll post up some install pics once everything gets here.

or you could be a dumbass like me and have some hack build you a kit, then spend thousands and thousands of dollars having it fixed/redone only to have it still not run right. That's the best plan.

Seems like STS is extremely reputable and very capable of making some serious power. I wish I had gone that route. Live and learn.

also keep in mind, if you are planning to make 1000rwhp you had better make sure the motor is built to handle it.

We got your front mount covered. Drop a line if there is anything we can do for you.
We would need to know the engine size and year model of the vehicle. Kit we offer fits the 06 and older chassis. 07 stuff is almost finished.

Best Remote kit is STS,
Best Front mount is Trick.
Each have their drawbacks, Trick being under hood heat, STS being location of turbo to elements and amount of piping. I went STS but I wouldn't think twice about going with Trick either. They are both worth every penny. But you gotta find the pro's and cons to each, weight them with your driving style and skills and decide on which is best for your application. Most +1000hp applications are front mount, remote mount is not new but new enough to where not too many people have gotten around to building such applications. Both STS and Trick are sponsors and contribuite routinely on here so they back their products..as evidence they both have replied in this thread...happy hunting!

I have an STS kit on my 2001 Silverado, and am currently putting one on my 2003 1500HD. One problem I have with the setup is WATER! I had the snorkel installed with the cleaner shoved WAY up into the fender and I still kept getting water on the MAF sensor making the truck undrivable until I took it out and dried it off. I have yet to solve this issue. I had the fender hole plugged solid with a freshly soaked water sock on the filter and if it rained heavy here in the Northwest (Wa. state) it would make no difference, I got water on the MAF. My buddy and I went thru the whole piping system to look for problems that would suck up water, but found none. I moved the Air cleaner to the center of the truck and built an aluminum cover so that it got its air from over top the gas tank. Made no difference, still got water on the MAF. We are begining to think the water is condensing in the intercooler with our cold'ish wet climate. I'm gonna try keeping a rolled up piece of rubber above the intercooler, then unrolling it to let it hang down and cover it when it rains outside. Also toyed with the idea of moving the air intake back up into the engine compartment. I cannot belive nobody else has had this trouble. Maybe it is just a pacific northwest issue heheh.

Thank You Guys for all the great info!!! I know of course that I want to go with a turbo and I'm trying to learn about them to the best of my ability. I've looked at my driving style and my need and it seems like the front mount would be the best way to go cause of weather and the where it is located where it can be accessed easily. I have a fair amount of knowledge of vehichles, but of course you can never learn enough! The Trick Front Mount kit looks like an extremely well engineered kit and it was well thought out! Although I don't have enough money right now to purchase one, once I have the money I will definately buy one from Trick! I would greatly appreciate any other input, advice, or tips you gentleman can offer! It will be greatly appreciated! Thanks again everyone!!!

I just noticed you live in Va. Which correct me if I'm wrong but it's the hilly country no? If that be the case, and I'd assume trick would chime in but don't be expecting to tow big trailers up and down those hills having the front mount always under load = it getting really hot. Rear is not as big an issue but it would still factor in somewhat. Do some research before you buy.

Pulling up and down hills with a load is ok as long as you have an egt and boost gauge in the truck and your not drag racing to the top.haha
And do not over load the trucks pulling weight just becuase you now have more power. If the truck is spec'd to pull 8000 lbs, donnot hook up to 12000lbs and go for it.
Now while pulling if your egt starts to climb or your in boost for real long peroids, just back off the throttle and slow down.
Also switch your tune to map based. This way your adding fuel soley by the reading on your map sensor which I feel is more important in a towing application.
And finally get a good water meth system.
