Default Turbo Kits???

Which Turbo kit on the market is the best all around? Remote mounted or Front mounted? My truck is going to be a daily driver so I'm not going to have the boost turned up over 8psi for now until I can upgrade everything. I'd appreciate any advice or insight that you guys can share! Thanks Everyone!

IMO there is no "best all around" in FI, there is only a best for you kit.

Good point. I'm just trying to find out what people have had the best luck with and I'm also trying to gain as much knowledge on the subject as humanlly possible.

i have had or driven most FI systems out there....if you are looking for an easy install, and a good daily driver the STS kit is a good option.

I preferebly want to go with a Front Mount, but I have heard very good things about the STS. The one bad thing about the STS system I've heard of is that the intake tubes running from the turbo back up to the TB can sometimes leak and the connections can come apart or is that just on the high boost applications??

I've blown off an intake tube at the track, but the fix is easy (7mm socket and a socket wrench Once you tighten them with the wrench, there's no problem with the fittings slipping. You can also upgrade to the t-bar type clamp.

For me, STS was the best fit and I have no complaints about any of the configs I've run.

Obviously the biggest question with the STS is placement of the turbo under the vehicle with all the weather and elements coming in contact with it. Have you ever had any problems with this and your making over 1000 horse with the STS kit? Damn! I didn't realize that the STS kit was capable of that kind of power output.

No problems with weather, even in Orlando and the torrential summer rains.

I haven't made the 1000 hp yet That's a running joke -- 1000hp jackstands because the truck has been on them for so long... (but also the target with the twin stage III STS kit that I'm installing as we speak), but its doable with an STS or any other kind of turbo with enough blood, sweat and money.

My STS kit has been on my truck for over 2 years now. Haven't had any real problems with weather and I live in WY. I've been very happy with it! You can see my current times for the "little" 4.8 in my sig
