Be cheaper and easier to get yourself a beater for about the same price.

 

I don't think I can find a beater for under $600.

 

serach Geo Prism on craigslist... that was my last beater, picked it up for $700 drove it for a year, then sold it for 800...

old 5.3 on the floor but missing the crank and pistions already removed.

 

Wow Im impressed with the machine shop.

I would say make them pay for a rental, that would make them get that thing torn down and fixed, but then again if they are being that cooperative this early then leave it alone.

I'd go with the cheap 4.8 idea

Well i have decide the truck going back to stock for now. I have 67 chevy truck that needs some love and would love to be blown in some way. I haven't worked on it about 6yrs and need to get working on. So for me the motor and trans will fit nice in there.

 

im all for your thought but my truck has had stock 5.3, 6.0, 6.7,4.8 and ls2 now.


toss in whatever you can get cheap till you get your current motor fixed
