Default Tuning questions??

SO ive called around and im seeing the cheapest tune i can acquire locally is about $450 for my truck. so my question is should i just buy the H P TUNERS for $500 bucks and learn for myself and yes i know its a tricky hobby to learn but thats fine. And my next question is should i just get another ECM and get it tuned with my current setup and save my stock or does it matter???

that's a reasonable cost for tune's, but also it's nice to have hp tuners or EFI live but there's usually a reason people are tuning the vehicles and it's because they know what there doing and that is a huge plus to having someone else do it, i know usually once you pay for that first base tune once you go back to the same tuner the rates are cheaper obviously because of less tuning needed after the initial tune.
