No compression. Looked through scope scored cylinder wall some shaving's. Piston was clean spark plug wet and clean. Tuner said 6 cylenders were lean and 2 were rich. He suggested getting my injectors flow tested to make sure they are all 80# and one was not somthing else.

engine was rebuilt under warranty at 49000 miles had a bad lifter and was consuming oil. So i got new pistons and cam thats when i added the gm performance cam. I only have 62000 miles on it now.

No compression is a very bad day...generally busted piston (which would have smoked like a freight train) or valve related.

How do you figure out the cause? It will be hard to move forward without knowing. If i spend all that $ fixing it will it just happen again.

That sucks man! I don't know who to blame, but I would look for another tuner! I never had any of the problems you've went through.....

Thats why i really want to figure out the cause. I have already paid $600 to this tuner if he did nothing wrong I don't want to spend $600 more plus drive 360 miles to the next nearest tuner. Its definitely going to be a rough next couple weeks.

Anyone know if its cheaper to get a rebuilt online vs having this one rebuilt?

I understand.... But, I literally put my spike turbo kit on with the ls3/7 MAF, then drove around for a few weeks, with no tune, then drove 350 miles to TES in Lubbock, swapped in some 72# $300 Bosch ev14 injectors, put it on the mustang dyno..... Then a few hours later I was leaving with 450hp/505tq on 8psi.... And that's with all my factory AFM/DOD bs! Been that way for 8 months.

Just find a cheap shortblock.... There's one on tech right now for $400

See if you can get your money back from that "tuner"..... Driving 500miles to get a good tune is well worth it!

Before my truck was tuned, I got into boost all the time! These motors are strong.... I blame it on the "tuner" that's taken a week to tune/hurt the motor!

Seems like a heck of a coincidence to have a good running truck then all of a sudden it messes up at the tuners as its getting dialed in. Anything can happen, don't get me wrong, but too lean a/f mixture can sure put a hole in a piston in a hurry.
