Default Totally Confused On Crankase Venting

I have read so much about it I think I overloaded myself. Maybe someone can help me out. 2006 Sierra I recently installed an on3 Kit. Im only shooting for about 7 lbs of boost. I have a tune on Monday, so I want to try and get some kind of "temporary" breather system on there. I am going to do a catch can system once the cars tuned, but for now, I just need something to get me around without causing issues.

My plan was to just link the passanger side, and driver side valve covers together, and tap my oil fill cap for a breather? Will this work for now? Or does someone have a better idea? Thanks

I vent the passenger side valve cover and run a check valve between the driver side valve cover and the intake. I also have a Mike Norris catch can in line between the driver side valve cover and the intake.

Another option would be to vent both valve covers to atmosphere and cap the intake.

I did exactly this and have no issues... easiest way to get it up and running safely.. I've been slacking and havent got a catch can yet..

I take a old school carb filter 3/8 barb in and out.
That's goes on the passenger side valve cover.
Costs a few bucks. Then a check valve in the line from the Pcv to top of intake.

Done. Go into boost it vents out the filter.
While cruising Pcv still sucks out all crank case vapors.

Without a check valve DON'T BOOST.

Ok, so breather on driver side pcv, and breather on the filter neck, or put it on the evap tube off passanger vc, or both? Then cap off the manifold obviously.

2 breathers in valve cover = oil smell

Pass side gets a filter
Driverside leave alone just add a 1 way check valve.

I never run crankcase venting back to the intake. Just find a way to vent both covers to a catch can. Check the level in it frequently till you get an idea of how fast it fills up. Have fun.

1) Cap TB port.

2) Run about 3' of open hose down to the frame

3) Optional - put breathers on each hose. autozone will have them.

No need to hook your valve covers up to vacuum. You might smell a little oil with open hoses, but its the cheapest easiest temp fix.

I run a catch can with -10 an lines from both covers. The catch can has a line to the intake before turbo to pull vapor, but the can has 2 3" valve cover filters on it, so its technically open air.

I also run a drain line back to the turbo drain so it automatically drains back. I imagine some will argue i'm allowing water vapor into the system, but the oil has looked great so far.
