Default Thoughts of Upping the boost?

So i started with 3.5, fixed my fueling issue and went to seven. Then 2 weeks of normal driving blew up the 4l60. Now with a 80 i'm a little more comfortable in adding a little more power. What are the pro's and con's to going up to 10psi on the 6.0 lq4 with enough fuel and good trans? This is a daily driver and keep in mind i drive it everywhere! Would it kill the motor quicker or would it be ok to run like that and still play on the weekend? I don't want to get too boost happy and end up popping the motor.
Thanks

10psi is fine, but 10 will turn into 12, etc etc. The engine will over time wear out faster, not just because of the 10psi, but you will more then likely be driving it harder because its more fun to drive.
You could get a boost controller and stay below 10 until you really want to play with some once.
I ran 10+ on my 2500 for almost a year and had NO problems. Watch the air/fuel and knock and you should be fine.

I think 10psi is a good level for the street. I've been running 9-11psi for the lasy 30K miles or so...

I plan on running really low boost, like around 6 psi with my new motor. And just keep a controller on it....

10 lbs for the last 30k on a LQ9 (higher compression). It's all in the tune.

I will most likely spend the money on a controller if i decide to go that route. That way i can put my 3.5 psi spring in it and use that for everyday driving to keep from wanting to hit it......then when i want to play just turn it up! I like sts kits cause the come with a 3way solenoid so you can use a manual boost controller and have a switch for a low and high boost at the flip of a switch. But if you can get a controller to have preset settings to adjust on the fly that would be nice. Just don't wanna get beat by mustang cause i was on low boost or somthing ricer like that haha!
