I think his name is boostedbowtie on yellowbullet.com, he has a rcsb with a 385 and I think it's a S480. Runs 9.43 at 14x mph.

Yea I've seen it. It's a early 90's 2wd RC runs strong. I think it's a S480/.83mm, T6 1.10. Or at least it was. He's making about the most power I would want to make with a factory GM GEN1 block. A guy with a Chevelle over there also ran 8.9 with a 66 or 67 chevelle 355 GEN1, ported vortecs, and S480. I think the block let go after awhile tho.

And what power level would that be? I don't plan on running mine at max power for hours on end. I may race it once in a while to see what it can do but for the most part its just going to be a fun weekend toy, maybe a daily driver at times, and maybe a tow rig when needed.

Looks like around 900Hp. I would prob go the S475/ on the 1.15 T4 or 1.1 T6 83mm exh and knife edge the divider like I showed Kyle. Kb can get you the right turbo. No reason to go the 80 mm if you're not going to push it close to max m, the 75 will spool quicker and still make a ton of power.

Did he prep his block for it or just put forged parts in a stock block and go for it?

Care to elaborate the difference? What do you mean by prep the block?

I mean if he is using a 4 bolt block to at least use ARP main studs and billet caps. A 2 bolt converter to 4 bolt block with billet splayed main caps and studs is said to be stronger then a traditional 4 bolt block. I am going to do a partial block fill up to the bottom of the freeze plug holes to help stabilize the bottom of the cylinders and add some rigidity to the block down low. With ARP studs and billet splayed caps I'm not worried about the crank blowing out the bottom, I'm more worried about the block potentially twisting on me. I think a main cap girdle wouldn't hurt a thing either. I would think he about has to be running head studs too.

Most people seem to say a girdle belongs on a fat woman or a Ford but I can see how it could help some. My hold up is that I want to use a windage tray too and I think between splayed caps and a windage tray and the girdle that would be too much going on down there to be beneficial.

Hes also using a Gen I block, not a Gen III like you are. A stock LS block should be fine to 1200+hp.
